We had a fantastic week at Selkirk Mountain Experience. Crazy amount of snow fell while we were there. The guides found us lots of great powder runs - including epic runs on "Morning Glory" and "Merlin". Food was amazing and the hospitality and vibe made for a very memorable week. Going back for sure!

Although it's been a couple of months since our amazing stay at Durrand Glacier Chalet, we continue to reflect on what a fantastic experience it was. The constant 360 views that surrounded us at the Lodge and on every hike were spectacular (not to mention the companionship of the goats). The Chalet has everything you'd want and need and more - it truly is a cozy room with a view where you are spoiled and so well looked after surrounded by nature's magic. The hiking was incredible, endless wildflowers bursting with colours; glacier fed lakes; jagged peaks; waterfalls and the Durrand Glacier which we hiked to mouth of one day. I could have just kept hiking, every day had new highlights! Most importantly, we are so grateful for the staff. Nicolin and her team went beyond the call of duty to ensure we were well looked after with their friendly inclusive warmth. And they were fun too! We can't wait to go back to Durrand Glacier Chalet for another hiking adventure! Thank you!

We just spent a wonderful week at Durrand Glacier chalet. The accomodation is similar to the huts in Europe: cozy and warm, it feels like being with family and long time friends. The food was really good, we were impressed that in such a remote location the cook could prepare such good dishes. The location is wonderful: no human infrastructure (except for the chalet), only nature, silence, snow, stars. Finally a place where one doesn‘t see any man made artificial stuff spoiling the landscape. The tours were nice and even a little demanding, the terrain is not always trivial but with the guides everything is feasible. The guides were patient and helpful, ready to accomodate our requests. The snow quality was not the best, although the quantity was incredible and given the week of stable weather we did many summits and traverses. Everybody was kind and welcoming. The organisation is perfect. It was a great stay. Intense and „relaxing“ at the same time.

We just returned from a great week at the Durrand Glacier Chalet. The third time is a charm- this time we got to ski with Ruedi most of the week. Every day was a great experience, whether skiing in flat light or enjoying the awe-inspiring views in every direction. We were in the relaxed group this time, which was very enjoyable. but if you are looking for big days, there were some crushers (even an Olypic skimo racer) in the 1600 meter/day crew. They looked pretty tired after trying to keep up with Florina all day! We are already making plans to come back, this time to go climbing!

I hesitate to post reviews but feel compelled to do so in this situation. The lodge is so remote and in such a beautiful location. The hikes in all four directions are incredible and beautiful and different and challenging. The food is incredible. Everything homemade including the pasta one night. And the staff were attentive and easy going and extremely competent. And the owners, well, it is clearly a labour of love. One felt like a house guest, a welcome one. It was a very unique experience and I felt like we got way more than our money's worth.

This is a special place, lead by special people who are not only professional and talented ski guides, but also friendly and warm. Every day was an adventure of pushing our bodies to the max, and yet there was a feeling of tranquility. The area is filled with incredible 360 degree views of pristine quiet mountain peaks. The food was a delight, and the hospitality and cleanliness of the chalet was better than a fancy hotel. It was a dream to be there and I hope to return. More than half of our group were repeat guests. The guides met us at our different levels of fitness with no judgement. We were all able to enjoy a pace that we were comfortable with, and didn't feel like we were missing out. Lastly, I am very grateful for the skill and wisdom of our guides. The avalanche danger was considerable while we were there, and our guides took our safety seriously. They planned every uphill and downhill route with care to keep us as safe as possible while still ensuring powdery turns and technical terrain.

As good as it gets in a backcountry lodge. Indoor plumbing, excellent food and incredible terrain. Over a metre of snow accumulated while we were there and the guides kept us safe while providing amazing powder runs.

Incredible splitboarding trip at the Durrand Glacier Chalet. It was an honor to explore the terrain and facilities that Mr. Beglinger and his legacy built. An alpine start early in the morning allows for great adventures. I would recommend this trip to anyone who loves backcountry skiing and share time with passionate people. Excellent food and impeccable planning. Thank you Ruedi, Nicoline, Shep and everyone at the SME.
